Step by step
How to search permits in Pinellas County.
Start with the office for the property's address. The official portal shows the permit's current status, inspections and documents.
Find the permitting authority
Check whether the address is inside St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo, Pinellas Park or Tarpon Springs, which issue their own permits. Otherwise the permit belongs to Pinellas County Building and Development Review Services Department.
Open the official permit search
Open Pinellas County Access Portal, which runs on Accela Citizen Access. Check permit status, create an account, pay fees, schedule inspections and submit code complaints.
Search by address or permit number
Search with the street address or the permit number where the portal offers those fields, then open the record for its status, inspections and documents.
Ask the office about older records
If a permit is missing online, ask Pinellas County Building and Development Review Services Department (727-464-3888) how to request it. Older permits are not always in online systems.
