Step by step
How to search permits in Okaloosa County.
Start with the office for the property's address. The official portal shows the permit's current status, inspections and documents.
Find the permitting authority
Check whether the address is inside Fort Walton Beach, Crestview or Destin, which issue their own permits. Otherwise the permit belongs to Okaloosa County Growth Management, Building Division (Permitting).
Open the official permit search
Open Okaloosa County permitting portal (EnerGov Self Service), which runs on Tyler EnerGov Self Service. Apply for permits, create an account, search permits on a property, request inspections and view the daily inspection report.
Search by address or permit number
Search with the street address or the permit number where the portal offers those fields, then open the record for its status, inspections and documents.
Ask the office about older records
If a permit is missing online, ask Okaloosa County Growth Management, Building Division (Permitting) (850-689-5080) how to request it. Older permits are not always in online systems.
