Step by step

How to search permits in Citrus County.

Start with the office for the property's address. The official portal shows the permit's current status, inspections and documents.

Citrus County Accela Permitting Portal

  1. Find the permitting authority

Check whether the address is inside Inverness, which issues its own permits. Otherwise the permit belongs to Citrus County Growth Management, Building Division.

  2. Open the official permit search

Open Citrus County Accela Permitting Portal, which runs on Accela Citizen Access. All new permits are processed through Accela, including permit exemption requests.

  3. Search by address or permit number

Search with the street address or the permit number where the portal offers those fields, then open the record for its status, inspections and documents.

  4. Ask the office about older records

If a permit is missing online, ask Citrus County Growth Management, Building Division (352-527-5310) how to request it. Older permits are not always in online systems.
